Ordinary Folk is an office for a forward thinking creative animation studio located in Vancouver, BC – it embodies a meticulous approach to designing commercial spaces.

The palette was grounded and masculine – concrete and plywood paired infused with elements of black, white and grey.

Custom millwork elements such as the media unit and entry storage closet are done in a birch plywood and include details such as custom finger pulls and bespoke open shelving layouts to showcase the studio’s collection of print materials and objects. The spacious, open plan layout is anchored by a methodical space planning to hone in on zones for each type of activity - from sit/stand workstations and clever storage, to studio gaming sessions and ping pong games. The kitchen vignette is practical yet grounded - it features a black square tile, matte black millwork and open shelving.

This project includes a thorough interior design package with custom millwork and furniture & styling to create a cohesive and functional environment.
