  • The transformation of this space began with an exploration of floorplan optimization, aiming to create a feeling of spaciousness. The plan is split into two halves - the intention of part one is to arrive, cleanse, and rest while the intention of part two is to cook, gather, and relax.

The space is infused with a crisp, minimal finish palette paired with elevated fixtures and locally sourced furniture. White oak hardwood flooring is layered with mushroom grey and white millwork, a concrete-hued quartz floating hearth, soft neutral terrazzo tiles, a custom French navy leather banquette, and heathered light grey wool. Notably, the bathroom and kitchen feature terrazzo tiles, adding a unique and artistic touch. Bespoke living room millwork conceals the television, upholding a clean and uncluttered aesthetic, while custom dining room banquette contributes to an efficient and welcoming floorplan.

Through a thoughtful approach to the design process and client relationship, Melling Studio created a serene, open plan environment that feels tactile, cohesive, and tailored.
